Lines, Rectangles, and Circles — StitchALot Studio Manual

StitchALot Studio includes shape tools for drawing geometric forms on your canvas. They use your selected color and stitch type.

Line Tool (L)

The Line tool draws a straight line of stitches between two points.

Select the Line tool (press L)
Click where you want the line to start
Drag to the end point — a live preview shows the line as you drag
Release to place the stitches

Point Line Tool (J)

The Point Line tool draws a smooth line through a series of points. Point lines aren't snapped to the grid, so they can follow curves and paths freely.

Select the Point Line tool (press J)
Click to place the first point
Keep clicking to add points — a dashed preview runs from your last point to the pointer
To finish, press Enter or Escape, click the Point Line button again, or switch to another tool

A point line needs at least 2 points; a single point is discarded. On iPad and Android, each tap adds a point.

For a stitched outline that runs along the grid holes, use the Backstitch tool instead.

Rectangle Tool (R)

The Rectangle tool draws a filled rectangle of stitches.

Select the Rectangle tool (press R)
Drag from one corner to the opposite corner
Release to place the rectangle

Circle Tool (O)

The Circle tool draws a filled circle or oval of stitches.

Select the Circle tool (press O)
Drag to set the width and height of the shape
Release to place it

On Windows and Mac, hold Shift while dragging to draw a perfect circle.

Tips

With Small Circle as the stitch type, lines and rectangles fill every position in each cell. Beads and French knots are placed in the center of each cell
A rectangle or circle drawn on an empty layer remembers its shape, so if you resize that layer later with the Move tool, it is redrawn cleanly at the new size
