Free Trial and License Activation
Stitch A Lot Studio offers a 7-day free trial so you can explore all features before purchasing. When you are ready, a one-time purchase gives you a perpetual license.
The 7-Day Free Trial
When you first open the app, click Start 7-Day Free Trial to begin. The trial includes every feature in the app — there are no limitations on what you can do.
During the trial:
- A banner at the top of the screen shows how many days remain
- PDF exports include a small watermark
- All drawing tools, thread libraries, layers, and export features are fully available
When the trial ends, the app will ask you to activate a license to continue.
Purchasing a License
A Stitch A Lot Studio license costs $59.99 (one-time purchase) and can be used on up to 3 devices.
To purchase:
- Visit stitchalot.com/software
- Click Buy Now and complete the checkout
- Your license key will be emailed to you
Your license is perpetual — it does not expire. You receive all updates within the current major version (all v1.x updates).
Activating Your License
Once you have a license key:
- Open Stitch A Lot Studio
- Go to Tools > License from the menu bar
- Click Enter License Key
- Type or paste your key in the format
STCH-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX - Click Activate
The app will verify your key online and activate your copy. You will see a green "Full version activated" confirmation.
Managing Your Devices
Each license works on up to 3 devices at the same time. For example, you could have Stitch A Lot Studio activated on your Windows PC, your MacBook, and your iPad.
To see how many devices are currently activated, go to Tools > License. The dialog shows your device count (e.g., "2 of 3 devices activated").
Moving to a New Device
If you need to free up a device slot — for example, when replacing an old computer — you can deactivate the app on that device:
- Open Stitch A Lot Studio on the device you want to remove
- Go to Tools > License
- Click Deactivate this device
- Confirm the deactivation
This frees up a slot so you can activate on your new device. You can always reactivate on the same device later using the same license key.
License Status
The License dialog (Tools > License) shows your current status:

|---|---|
| Licensed | Your license is active and valid |
| Trial | You are in the 7-day trial period |
| Trial Expired | The trial has ended — activate a license to continue |
Offline Use
After activation, Stitch A Lot Studio works fully offline. Your license is cached locally and only needs to check in online periodically (approximately every 30 days). If you are offline for an extended period, a short grace period ensures you can continue working.
