Long Stitches / Backstitches

For diagonal backstitches inside a single cell, pick the Cross Line stitch types in the toolbar (the ╳ options) and draw with any tool. They behave like one-cell backstitches and stack so both diagonals can share a cell.

For longer connected runs, the Point Line tool (J) lets you click waypoints and lays down stitches along the path — useful for outline/backstitch-style lines that span multiple cells. It draws using filled stitch cells.

If there is a different solution you would like to see please describe it.

Currently we do not have a font in backstitch format, but there is a font editor. Tools > Font > Font Editor. While it is manual work initially you can have exactly what you would like. You could also share it with others as a salfont.
