StitchALot Studio 1.8.4 — Windows and Mac
Fixed
A converted photo could stay "locked" so the tools couldn't change it. With layers off, switching tools right after converting a photo left it on a hidden layer of its own, so color swap, the eraser and fill did nothing to it and pencil marks went underneath. The photo now merges into the design when you switch tools, and designs already saved this way are repaired when you open them.
Improved
On Windows the app is now called "StitchALot Studio" (with a space) in the Start menu, Windows search, the desktop shortcut and Installed apps, matching the Mac. Updating renames your existing shortcuts instead of adding new ones.
Mac: the app offers to remove the old copy left by 1.8.3's rename. If StitchALotStudio is still in Applications next to StitchALot Studio, a window at startup offers Move Old Copy to Trash.
PDF chart import reads a key printed on the chart page. One-page charts that put the key under the grid now come in with their colors instead of needing every symbol assigned by hand. Keys that list several threads on one line are read too, and the key no longer adds stray rows to the bottom of the pattern.
Thread search on the Colors step finds codes typed the way a key prints them, such as "D931", "DB5200" or "DMC 310".
File → Import → Image... opens the Upload Image window, so you can convert a photo or add a reference overlay from the File menu too.
Adding a reference overlay switches to the Move tool, so you can drag and resize it straight away.
Mac: menu bar items that need a design are greyed out on the home screen, instead of doing nothing when chosen.
Your designs, settings and license carry over.
